TIDO ART GALLERY at Melbourne Ceramic Art Fair 2025

Venue: Northcote Town Hall Arts Centre | Melbourne,Australia
Theme: A Celebration of Contemporary Ceramic Art in a Historic Space

A Historic Space for Contemporary Voices

Melbourne Ceramic Art Fair 2025 gathers a constellation of ceramic artists from Australia and beyond, celebrating the depth, innovation, and cultural resonance of the medium.

This year’s fair takes place at the Northcote Town HallArts Centre, an architectural landmark built in 1887 and transformed into one of Melbourne’s most vibrant art and community spaces.
Blending Victorian neoclassical architecture with later Art Deco and contemporary extensions, the venue mirrors the dialogue between heritage and modern creativity — a fitting stage for an art form rooted in both tradition and renewal.

Sharing Art with the Community

TIDO ART GALLERY is delighted to participate in this year’s fair, presenting works that connect art, craftsmanship, and community.

For us, this event is more than an exhibition — it is a moment of exchange.
Through the tactile language of ceramic art, we share stories, invite dialogue, and celebrate how creativity brings people together.
Each piece reflects both artistic intention and the collaborative spirit that defines Melbourne’s cultural landscape.

The Artist —Darian Duan: A Dialogue Between Cultures

Representing TIDO ART GALLERY, Darian Duan (YijianDuan) explores the intersection between Eastern tradition and Western contemporary art through fine porcelain.

Trained in classical Chinese painting, Darian reinterpretsancient techniques — underglaze red, blue and white, and Underglaze Polychrome — within a modern context.
His works balance precision and spontaneity, revealing both thefragility of clay and the strength of cultural narrative.

Darian’s practice transcends geography, expressing a philosophy of transformation and balance.
Through layered glazes and subtle tonal shifts, his ceramics invite reflectionon how tradition and modernity, East and West, coexist in quiet harmony.

Porcelain as a Language of Connection

At the heart of TIDO ART’s presentation lies a belief that fine porcelain can bridge aesthetics and emotion, craft and philosophy, artist and viewer.

Through this cross-cultural dialogue, we offer not justobjects of beauty, but experiences that speak to shared human sensibilities:
calmness, contemplation, and connection.
