Chinese civilization, a cornerstone of world civilization, serves as both the foundation and source of our lives, merging with the universal values of globalization. Eastern civilizations, including those of China, Japan, and Korea, have made remarkable efforts to enrich the diversity of global culture. This diversity, in turn, propels human civilization toward an even more brilliant and flourishing future.
Thanks to geographical proximity and a shared journey of learning and personal connection, I, Rick Farrell—an advocate for independent thought—have known and collaborated with the renowned artist and cultural figure “Lao Duan” for more than two decades. Through him, I was introduced to his mentor, the steadfast and visionary Professor Lin Yipeng, whom I hold in the highest regard as both a teacher and a friend. This long-standing relationship has bound me deeply and inseparably to culture, art, and the community of artists
Reflecting on the PastSince 2011, guided by shared values, we often gathered for discussions and collaborations around art, which gradually inspired the idea of forming a unified creative team. In March 2014, in Nanjing, we established platforms including the Dingdu Culture and Art Gallery. Our initial intention was simple and practical: to enrich and support our own lives. However, as widely recognized, China’s institutional framework limits the development of a truly free market. This reality strengthened our desire for genuine open competition, motivating us to relocate to Australia in December 2018 and to prepare for participation on an international stage. By October 2021, with favourable conditions aligning, we officially founded the TIDO ART platform in Melbourne

Our existence is imbued with thought, spirit, and emotion, dwelling between heaven and earth. Dingdu’s original aspiration endures: to begin with sincerity and effort, and to culminate in self-fulfillment and uplifting others.

TIDO ART

He skilfully blends delicacy with dynamism, using soft colours and intricate layouts to create a poetic ambiance. The release of this collection marks an important milestone in his artistic journey, reflecting both the inheritance of traditional art and the spirit of exploration of a contemporary artist.
The "Resonance of Brush and Ink" calligraphy and painting exhibition was held at the Jiangsu Art Museum, showcasing the masterpieces of Wu Guobao and Duan Yijian. Combining tradition and innovation, it highlights their artistic exploration and the diversity of contemporary art, making a positive contribution to the inheritance and promotion of Chinese culture.

As is widely known, the system in China has prevented the formation of a truly free market. In light of this, driven by a desire for free competition, we moved to Australia in December 2018, preparing to enter the international stage of true competition. By October 2021, with the right timing, location, and support, we successfully established the new art platform, TIDO ART, in Melbourne.
In 2024, artistic creation entered a profound phase of reflection. Each stage of achievement should serve as a driving force for progress, rather than a reason for complacency.
